Boston Brown Bread 1 egg 1 teaspoon of salt 2 tablespoons of sugar 1 tablespoon of shortening 1 cup of sour milk 1 teaspoon of baking soda 2 tablespoons of dark molasses 2 tablespoons of white flour 1 cup of raisins 1 1/2 to 2 cups of graham flour |

Mix ingredients in order given. Care must be given that not too much graham flour is used as it makes the bread crumble when sliced. The dough should be a little thicker than cake batter. Bake in a greased loaf pan in a 350ºF. oven for 50 to 60 minutes. Turn on a wire rack to cool before slicing. Makes 1 loaf
