Cut the chicken into serving pieces, brown in hot vegetable oil. Brown the onion in fat, add the remaining ingredients along with 1 tablespoon of oil. Simmer for 30 minutes, pour over chicken. Bake uncovered at 325 - 350ºF. for 1 hour. Makes 6 servings
