Cut beef into long thin strips, brown in butter. Add the mushrooms, onion, garlic, cook until lightly browned. Blend in tomato soup, sour cream, salt and pepper. Cover and simmer for 1 hour or until the beef is tender, stirring occasionally. Serve with hot cooked rice.
