| Preheat your oven to 325ºF. Combine the corn syrup, butter, shortening, and brown sugar in saucepan. Bring to a boil, then remove immediately from heat. Gradually blend in flour and nuts. Drop dough by rounded tea-spoons about 3 inches apart onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool for 1 minute, then remove carefully from cookie sheet with spatula. If desired, cookies may be rolled into cone shapes while still warm. Makes 5 dozen
