| German Chocolate Brownies
1 German chocolate cake mix 2/3 cup of evaporated milk 1 package of caramels 1 package of chocolate chips 1 stick butter, melted Nuts |
| Melt in double boiler caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Mix together cake mix, butter and 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Put 3/4 cake mix as crust in 9x13 pan and bake 6 minutes at 375ºF. Then pour caramels over crust. Pour chips and nuts over. Drop rest of cake mix on top. Bake 20 minutes. Cool, then refrigerate 1 hour. German Chocolate Brownies 2
4 ounces of sweet cooking chocolate 6 tablespoons of butter or margarine 2 eggs, beaten 1 teaspoon of vanilla 1/4 cup of sugar 1/2 cup of flour 2 tablespoons of milk 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
Topping
2 egg yolks, beaten 2/3 cup of sugar Small can (5 1/3 oz.) evaporated milk 1/4 cup of margarine, melted 1 cup of flaked coconut 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts
In saucepan, melt chocolate and butter, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add eggs, sugar, milk and vanilla. Mix well. Stir together flour and baking powder. Stir into chocolate mixture. Spread in greased 9x4x2 inch pan. Bake at 350ºF. for 15 minutes. Spread with topping and bake for another 20-30 minutes. Cool. Cut.
