| German Chocolate Saucepan Brownies
1/2 cup of margarine or butter One 4 ounce bar of sweet cooking chocolate, chopped 1/2 cup of sugar 1 teaspoon of vanilla 2 eggs 1 cup of all purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder 1/4 teaspoon of salt |
| Topping 2 tablespoons of margarine or butter, melted 1/2 cup of firmly packed brown sugar 2 tablespoons of corn syrup 2 tablespoons of milk 1 cup of coconut 1/2 cup of finely chopped pecans or walnuts
Heat oven to 350ºF. Grease 8 or 9 inch square pan. In medium saucepan, melt 1/2 cup margarine and chocolate over low heat, stirring constantly. Cool slightly. Add sugar and vanilla; blend well. Add eggs; beat well. Add flour, baking powder and salt; mix well. Spread in greased pan. Bake for 10-20 minutes. Combine topping ingredients and drop by teaspoonfuls over warm brownies. Broil 4 inches from heat for 1-2 minutes. Cool.
