German Chocolate Icing

1 cup of evaporated milk
3 egg yolks
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1 cup of chopped pecans
1 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of butter
1 1/3 cup of coconut
 

Combine evaporated milk, sugar, egg yolks that have been slightly beaten, butter or margarine, and vanilla in saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened, about 12 minutes. Remove from heat; add chopped pecans and coconut. Cool to lukewarm beating occasionally. Spread on freshly baked German chocolate cake.
