Holiday Nut Roll

one 16 ounce bag of marshmallows
one 12 ounce can of evaporated milk
one 16 ounce box of graham crackers, crushed
3 pounds of dates, whole
2 1/2 to 3 quarts of nuts, whole almonds, pecans and English walnuts
 

Melt the marshmallows and evaporated milk in a large metal pan. When melted, add crushed graham cracker crumbs. Mix and add 3 pounds of dates and nuts, enough to make it look like a nut roll. Shape into rolls the diameter of a small orange and about 7 inches long. Size is up to individual taste. wrap in waxed paper and then in aluminum foil. Refrigerate or freeze. Serve cold. Slice and serve plain or with a tablespoon of whipped cream. Makes 6 - 8 rolls. These make great gifts, wrapped with a ribbon.
