Lace Cookies

3 tablespoons of sugar
2 tablespoons of light molasses
3 tablespoons of butter
4 teaspoons of water
1/3 cup of sifted flour
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
A pinch of salt
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/4 cup of finely chopped pecans  

Preheat oven to 325ºF. Combine the sugar, molasses, butter and water in saucepan, heat to boiling. Remove from heat and stir until the butter is melted. Sift the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon together into bowl. Add to molasses mixture, stir until well blended. Stir in pecans. Bake the cookies one at a time, put 1 tablespoon of batter on well greased cookie sheet and spread as thinly as possible. Bake for 9 to 10 minutes. Remove from oven, let cool for 30 seconds. Remove the cookie sheet and immediately roll over a greased glass. Makes 1 dozen
