Old Style Wheat Biscuits

1 cup of white flour
1 cup of whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1/4 teaspoon of lite salt or less
1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
1/4 cup of oil
2 tablespoons of vinegar
1 cup of skim milk

 

Preheat your oven to 475ºF. Sift together the flours, baking powder, Lite salt and baking soda. Cut in oil until the mixture looks like coarse cornmeal. Put the vinegar and milk together in a cup and stir. Stir enough milk into the flour mixture until soft dough is formed. Sprinkle flour on countertop and knead dough. Roll out dough to 1 inch thick. Cut with biscuit cutter or glass. place on baking sheet. bake for 12 minutes. Makes sixteen 2 inch biscuits
