Polenta Bread

2 teaspoons of bread machine yeast
2 1/2 cups of bread flour
1/3 cup of polenta
1/2 teaspoon of salt
2 tablespoons of sugar
2 tablespoons of lard or vegetable shortening
2/3 cup of milk
2 tablespoons of water
1 large egg  

Process the ingredients according to the manufacturer's instructions for a basic bread setting. Remove the bread from the bread pan to cool on a rack. Wrap in aluminum foil or plastic wrap to store. Makes one 1 pound loaf.
