Brown the pork chops in hot shortening in a skillet. Remove chops and reserve fat. Place the chops in a baking dish and sprinkle with salt and sage. Slice the apples in rings and sprinkle with brown sugar. Place on pork chops. Stir the flour into reserved fat.. Stir in the water and vinegar and cook, stirring until thickened. Add the raisins and pour over apples. Bake at 350ºF. for 1 hour. Makes 8 servings
