Zippy Beef, Mac, and Cheese

6 ounces of packaged dried elbow macaroni or corkscrew macaroni
12 ounces of lean ground beef, pork or raw turkey
One 15 ounce can of tomato sauce
One 14 1/2 ounce can of stewed tomatoes or Mexican style stewed tomatoes
4 ounces of American or sharp American cheese, cut into small cubes,
1 tablespoon of chili powder
Finely shredded or grated Parmesan cheese

 

In a 3 quart saucepan cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain, and keep warm. Meanwhile in a large skillet cook ground meat until it is brown. Drain the fat. Stir ground meat, tomato sauce, undrained tomatoes, cheese, and chili powder into cooked pasta. Cook and stir over medium heat for 6 to 8 minutes or until heated through. Sprinkle each serving with parmesan cheese. Makes 4 servings
