Beans for Everybody
1/3 cup of butter or margarine
1/2 cup of minced peeled onions
1 clove garlic, peeled and sliced
2 teaspoons of brown sugar
1 teaspoon of dry mustard
two 20 ounce cans of kidney beans, drained
one 20 ounce can of green limas, drained
one 1 pound can of Boston Style baked beans
1/4 cup of ketchup
2 tablespoons of vinegar
salt and pepper
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Heat butter or margarine in skillet. Sauté
onions and garlic together for 5 minutes or until onions are tender.
Stir brown sugar, mustard, kidney beans, limas and baked beans, ketchup
and vinegar in . Mix well. Taste for seasoning. Add salt and pepper as
needed. Pour into 2 quart casserole. Bake, covered 25 minutes. Uncover
and let brown for 5 minutes. Makes 8 servings |
