Melt the butter over low heat. Add the flour, salt, and pepper, stir, remove from heat. Add milk, cook over low heat until thick. Add cheese, stir until the cheese is melted. Drain the asparagus, arrange in casserole. Pour the cheese mixture over asparagus. Dip the bread cubes in melted butter, top casserole. Bake at 375ºF. for 35 minutes. |
