Apple Cream Coffee
Cake
1/2 cup of chopped walnuts
1/2 cup of sugar
2 teaspoons of cinnamon
1 stick of butter or margarine
2 eggs
1 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla
2 cups of flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of soda
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of sour cream
1 apple, sliced and peeled
Grease a 9" tube pan. Preheat oven to 375ºF. Mix together the first 3
ingredients and set aside. Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs,
one at a time. Beat well. Add vanilla. Sift other dry ingredients and
beat into batter at low speed. Slowly add sour cream. Spread half of the
batter in pan. Sprinkle with half the sugar and walnut mixture. Add
sliced apple. Add remaining batter and then top with sugar mixture. Bake
for 40 minutes at 375ºF. Cool before removing from pan.
