Fresh Cherry Pie 1

4 cups of cherries, wash, pit and pick over
1 1/3 cup of sugar
4 tablespoons of flour
2 teaspoons of quick cooking tapioca
2 drops of almond extract

Combine all ingredients except cherries, then sprinkle mixture over cherries and let stand for 15 minutes, Mix well and put in unbaked 9" pie crust. Dot with 1 tablespoon of butter. Cover with lattice or whole  crust. Bake at 450ºF.   for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350ºF. and bake about 30 minutes or until golden brown.
