| Double Crust Pie Dough
2 cups of sifted flour 1/4 cup of water 2/3 cup of vegetable shortening 1/4 teaspoon of mace 1/2 teaspoon of lemon rind add sesame seeds if you like |

Sift flour into a bowl. Remove 1/3 cup of this flour and mix with water, forming a paste. Set aside. Add vegetable shortening, mace and lemon rind to flour, and cut mixture, using a pastry blender or 2 knives, until pieces are the sizes of peas. Add paste mixture to flour mix and mix thoroughly until dough comes together and can be shaped into a ball. Divide into 2 parts. Chill. Roll 1/8 inch thick. Bake at 450ºF. for 15- 20 minutes. Makes crust for 9 inch, 2 crust pie.
