Green Bean Casserole 3

2 pounds of fresh green beans, washed & cut up
10 1/2 ounces of cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
1 pound of French Fried onion rings
1 cup of Cheddar cheese, grated
1 can of water chestnuts, thinly sliced
slivered almonds, optional
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup of water

Spread in layers. Save enough French Fried onion rings to crumble and sprinkle over top about 20 minutes before serving. Add 1/2 cup of water and cook on HIGH for 7- 10 hours (LOW 12 - 18 hours). Serves 4 - 6
Note: if using frozen green beans, use 4 packages cut up green beans. Cook on HIGH 4 - 5 hours or on LOW 8 - 10 hours
