Christmas Ham Loaf

3/4 pound of  smoked ham, ground
3/4 pound of veal, ground
3/4 cup of milk
3/4 cup of bread crumbs
1/4 cup of  green pepper, chopped
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon of  dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon of salt
one 8 1/2 ounce can of sliced pineapple, drained
Red and green food coloring



Put all ingredients except pineapple and food coloring in bowl; mix thoroughly. Cut pineapple into slices; arrange in bottom of loaf pan to look like flowers and leaves. Fill pan with ham mixture; bake in 375ºF. oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Turn onto serving platter. Paint flowers with red food coloring and leaves with green coloring. Serve with Sweet Sour Sauce.

SWEET SOUR SAUCE:

1 1/4 cup of  (firmly packed) brown sugar
1 tablespoon of  flour
2 tablespoon of  butter
2 tablespoon of  prepared mustard
1/4 cup of vinegar
1/4 cup of water

Mix sugar and flour together; add remaining ingredients and blend well. Pour into saucepan; cook about 15 minutes until clear and slightly thickened.
Yield 6 to 8 servings.
