Steak Rolls 2
1 loaf of day old bread, cubed
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 large onion, minced
1/4 teaspoon of powdered sage
6 large pieces of round steak
Butter
Salt and pepper |
| Combine bread, celery, onion, sage and enough water to
moisten, form into balls about size of an orange. Place a ball on each piece
of steak, dot with butter and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Roll up, tie
with string. Brown steak rolls in shortening. Add water to cover, simmer for
1 hour and 30 minutes or until tender. Yield 6 servings |
