Peanut Brittle Crispies

1/2 teaspoon of soda
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1/2 cup of butter
1/4 cup of sugar
1 egg, unbeaten
1 cup of finely crushed peanuts

BAKE at 375ºF. for 9 to 12 minutes. Makes about 2 1/2 dozen cookies Sift together the flour, soda, and salt. Cream butter. Add sugar, creaming well. Blend in egg. Add dry ingredients gradually; mix well. Stir in peanut brittle. Shape dough into balls, using a rounded teaspoonful for each. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake in moderate oven (375ºF. ) 9 to 12 minutes. Cool 1 minutes. Remove from sheet. *For use with Pillsbury's Best Self-Rising Flour, omit soda and salt.
