Golden Pork Chop Bake
6 pork chops, 1 inch thick
2 tablespoons of shortening
1/2 cup of sliced celery
1 garlic clove, minced
two 10 3/4 ounce cans of condensed golden mushroom soup
1 1/3 cups of water
1 1 3/ cups of packaged precooked rice
1/2 cup of chopped tomato
Brown pork chops on both sides in shortening in a skillet.
Remove chops from skillet; drain off excess fat.
Sauté celery and garlic in skillet. Combine with remaining
ingredients. Spoon into 2 quart shallow baking dish.
Arrange chops on top of rice mixture.
Bake, covered, at 350ºF. for 1 hour, or until chops are tender.
