Spanish Pork Chops 2

4 thick chops
2 tablespoons of sugar
1/2 tablespoon of ginger
1 cup of diced onions
2 cups of water
1 cup of uncooked rice
1 tablespoon of paprika
2 tablespoons of kitchen bouquet
2 tablespoons of salt
one 6 ounce can of tomato paste
1/2 cup of diced green pepper



Brush the meat with kitchen bouquet. Grease  a skillet with pork fat. Brown the meat slightly on both sides over moderate heat. Combine the remaining ingredients except rice and pour over chops. Cover and cook slowly until tender, about 45 minutes. Put rice around in skillet. Mix with salt. Cover and cook for 25 minutes or until the rice is done.
