Caraway Bread Stuffing

1 1/2 quarts of soft bread crumbs
1 teaspoon of caraway seeds
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of pepper
4 tablespoons of butter or margarine
1/4 cup of diced peeled onions
1/4 cup of diced celery
1 egg
1/2 cup of milk



Combine the bread, seeds, salt and pepper. Toss lightly to mix. Melt the butter or margarine in a skillet, add onion and celery. Cook over low heat until the onion is tender. Stir frequently to mix. Beat the egg slightly, add to milk and stir into bread crumbs. add the celery and onion with butter or margarine in which they cooked and mix well. Stuff large chicken, capon or small turkey. Makes 1 1/2 quarts stuffing
